Keep your tires properly inflated. Low tire pressure creates more road resistance, which in turn causes the engine to work harder. Check the door sticker on the inside driver’s door panel for the manufacturer’s recommended tire pressure. Or just come by and we’ll be glad to check it for you.

The car’s weight, that is. Too much weight in your vehicle can reduce gas mileage by one-half percent for every 90 pounds. Make sure you’re not hauling around any unnecessary weight in the trunk.

Your engine can breathe. It “inhales” through the air filter and “exhales” through the tailpipe. If your air filter is clogged or dirty, your engine will have a harder time breathing. By replacing your dirty air filter you can significantly increase your vehicle's gas mileage.

Performing routine maintenance not only saves you gas, but it can detect potential problems to avoid costly breakdowns. By following the manufacturer’s recommendations, you can increase your gas mileage and extend the life of your car.

Aggressive acceleration consumes gas more than anything else. Conservative driving and not racing from stop light to stop light can improve gas mileage and also extend the life of your vehicle.
